Colombo, Sri Lanka – In a groundbreaking step toward advancing global healthcare collaboration, the International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) proudly signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Akutagawa Corporation, Japan, officially launching the Healthcare Professional Training and Placement Program to Japan.

This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening Sri Lanka–Japan relations while expanding international career pathways for Sri Lankan healthcare professionals. The initiative is designed to enhance skill development, cultural exchange, and employment opportunities in Japan’s renowned healthcare sector, empowering Sri Lankan professionals to make a meaningful global impact.

The signing ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including:

  • Mr. Yuma Akutagawa – President, Akutagawa Corporation, Japan
  • Dr. Kithsiri Edirisinghe – CEO/Co-Founder, IIHS
  • Dr. Renuka Jayatissa – Vice Chancellor, IIHS
  • Dr. Amal Harsha De Silva – Pro-Vice Chancellor, IIHS
    along with an esteemed delegation from Japan.
