Colombo – State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka (SPC) proudly partnered once again with the Ministry of Health’s Trauma Secretariat to mark National Trauma Week 2025 with an awareness walk under the theme “Stop the Bleed,” held on 12th October 2025.
The walk started at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka and concluded at Independence Square, drawing strong participation from healthcare professionals, emergency responders, and members of the public. The initiative aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of immediate first aid and bleeding control in trauma situations critical steps that could save lives before medical assistance arrived.
Hon. Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa attended the event and commended the ongoing efforts of SPC and the Trauma Secretariat in enhancing community-level emergency response. He emphasized that timely action and basic first aid knowledge played a vital role in reducing preventable deaths caused by trauma and accidents.
Through collaborations like this, SPC reaffirmed its commitment to national health and wellbeing, supporting preventive education and empowering citizens with life-saving knowledge.
Trauma affected countless lives, and together, people could make a difference. The National Trauma Walk aimed to:
