Colombo, – Hon. Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Health and Mass Media, recently graced the groundbreaking ceremony of Hemas Hospitals’ ambitious new tertiary care facility in Thalawathugoda as the chief guest. This landmark Rs. 10 billion project is poised to redefine private healthcare in Sri Lanka with world-class infrastructure and cutting-edge medical technologies.

The upcoming hospital will feature six advanced operating theaters, a cardiac catheterization lab, a dedicated cardiac surgery unit, and a neurosurgical unit equipped with a state-of-the-art neuro navigator. In addition, the facility will incorporate AI-assisted robotic surgery capabilities, enabling complex urological and spinal procedures to be performed with unparalleled precision.

Speaking at the event, Minister Dr. Jayatissa highlighted the importance of modern healthcare infrastructure in meeting the evolving medical needs of the population. “This project reflects a commitment to delivering high-quality, specialized care, while embracing advanced technologies that will elevate Sri Lanka’s healthcare standards,” he said.
