Walking for Awareness – Nawaloka’s Mission to Fight Diabetes

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Marking World Diabetes Awareness week, Nawaloka Hospital Colombo joined hands with the Sri Lanka College of Endocrinologists for a dynamic Diabetes Awareness Walk, reaffirming its commitment to national health development and community wellbeing.

The walk aimed to strengthen public understanding of diabetes prevention, early detection, and long-term management. Hundreds of participants including healthcare professionals, patients, families, and fitness enthusiasts took part to advocate for healthier lifestyles and improved access to diabetes care.

Speaking at the event, representatives from Nawaloka Hospitals emphasized that diabetes continues to be one of Sri Lanka’s fastest-growing health concerns. The hospital highlighted the urgent need for consistent education, routine screenings, and accessible treatment facilities to curb rising cases.
